The Administrator is the Secretary of the corporation and of the Board of Officers. The duties of the Administrator are so extensive that a separate course has been prepared, and many duties are also defined in the General Laws of The Moose.
Key responsibilities include:
- Nominated by the Board of Officers and elected by a majority vote of the membership at a regular Lodge meeting.
- Serves for a term of satisfactory service, as determined by the Board of Officers and membership.
- If unsatisfactory performance is apparent, the Board should act promptly.
- In case of a vacancy, an Acting Administrator can be appointed for up to six months. The Treasurer performs the Administrator’s duties during this time but does not become the Acting Administrator.
Duties include:
- Attend and maintain minutes for all meetings (Lodge, Board, Executive Sessions).
- Sign and file minutes after approval.
- Draw and sign checks (countersigned by President or Treasurer).
- Collect and receipt all funds.
- Make weekly deposits at minimum.
- Maintain accurate accounting using Moose International systems.
- Keep all original documents and submit all required reports.
- Maintain membership records.
- Serve as a delegate to Moose International and Association meetings.
- Custodian (with President and Treasurer) of Lodge securities and valuable papers.
- Ensure timely completion and filing of all required forms and reports.
- Compensation is permitted and set by the Board of Officers and the membership. If the Administrator is also the Social Quarters Manager, they may receive separate compensation for that role as well.
